Customer information and practical guidance
RKM LOGISTICS PTY LTD supports importers, exporters, and domestic shippers from our Acacia Ridge office with documentation standards, communication rhythms, and contingency planning suited to each shipment.
RKM Logistics commenced operations in May 2022 as a lean freight coordination business serving Queensland and interstate supply chains. We operate from a single Acacia Ridge office; your file is managed through direct contact with staff who know your cargo profile and commercial constraints.
Before you book
Accurate scope definition prevents cost blowouts at wharf or airport. Before requesting a quotation, assemble the following where applicable:
- Commercial invoice and packing list aligned on weights, quantities, and HS tariff descriptions
- Incoterms agreed with your supplier or buyer, including who arranges insurance and import clearance
- Cargo dimensions for each package or unit, including non-stackable or top-heavy items
- Required delivery date and any penalty windows tied to project or retail launch schedules
- Biosecurity or quarantine treatments for timber packaging, agricultural products, or used machinery
For recurring lanes, we maintain client-specific routing notes — preferred carriers, delivery time windows, and proof-of-delivery formats — so repeat bookings do not restart discovery from zero.
Documentation standards
Australian Border Force release depends on consistent data across transport bills, invoices, and declarations. Common discrepancies we correct before lodgement include mismatched gross weights between packing lists and bills of lading, vague commodity descriptions (“parts” instead of “hydraulic pump assemblies”), and missing country-of-origin statements required for preferential duty treatment.
We provide template packs for overseas factories on request. Templates specify mandatory fields for Port of Brisbane receival and Brisbane Airport handling agents. Suppliers who adopt them typically clear faster and incur fewer storage days at terminal or bonded facilities.
Shipment visibility
Once booked, we track milestones appropriate to the mode — gate-in and vessel departure for ocean, flight acceptance and arrival for air, and pickup and proof of delivery for road. Updates are communicated by email or telephone according to your preference. See Shipment Updates for status definitions and escalation points.

Accounts and invoicing
Credit terms are offered selectively after account review. Spot shipments may require prepayment or carrier release deposits. Invoices itemise base freight and disclosed surcharges where possible; terminal or government charges assessed after arrival are passed through at cost with supporting documentation.
Disputed lines should be raised within fourteen (14) days of invoice date with supporting shipment references. We investigate with carriers and brokers and respond with chronologies drawn from lodged paperwork.
Emergency and after-hours
Standard office hours apply to routine bookings and documentation. When carriers report exceptions — rolled vessels, truncated flights, or road closures — we prioritise client notification and option analysis during the next business window. Life-safety emergencies should always be directed to appropriate emergency services; cargo urgency should be flagged at quotation stage so after-hours contacts can be agreed where commercially feasible.
Getting help
If you cannot locate the information you need here, contact our Acacia Ridge office on 07 4763 4013 or info@rkmlogistics.com.au with your company name and shipment reference. We will route your enquiry to the coordinator responsible for your file rather than a generic queue.
Working with a single office
Because we coordinate from one Acacia Ridge location, policy and process updates apply consistently across your shipments. You do not need to reconcile conflicting advice from multiple branches — escalate to the same file owner if guidance appears inconsistent.
We update customer information when carrier or terminal practices materially change.
